The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 11, 2015.[7][8] In the Ward 2 race, Sharon Anderson, Pat Fearing, Bill Hosko, Michael C. Johnson, Rebecca Noecker and Darren Tobolt faced off in the general election. Noecker won the race to replace incumbent Dave Thune, who did not run for re-election.[9]
